One of our clients is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced **Bookkeeper** to manage the financial records of rental properties. This role involves overseeing rent collection, maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and experience in real estate or property management accounting. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, financial accuracy, and transparency for property owners and stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**
* Rent Collection:
* Monitor and record rent payments in coordination with the property management team. Ensure timely processing and follow-ups on outstanding balances.
* Accounts Payable & Receivable:
* Track and process all income and expense transactions, ensuring that vendor invoices and client payments are accurately documented and reconciled.
* Financial Reporting:
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
* Bank Reconciliation:
* Reconcile all bank and credit card statements with accounting records to ensure accurate tracking of all financial activity.
* Budgeting Support:
* Assist with the development and maintenance of property-level budgets and monitor financial performance against targets.
* Data Entry & Recordkeeping:
* Maintain up-to-date, organized, and accurate records of financial transactions, including rent payments, operating expenses, and maintenance costs.
* Communication:
* Collaborate with property managers, owners, and other stakeholders to address and resolve financial inquiries or discrepancies.
* Compliance & Audit Support:
* Ensure all financial activities comply with accounting standards, regulations, and property-specific requirements. Provide documentation and assistance during audits.
* Problem Solving:
* Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies in financial documentation or reporting.
* Ad Hoc Tasks:
* Provide general support to the finance or operations team, including special projects and administrative duties as required.
**Requirements & Qualifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a rental property or real estate environment.
* Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Familiarity with accounting software and digital financial tools
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and journal entry processes
* High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting
* Excellent organizational and time management abilities
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to handle large volumes of data independently
* Amenable to work part-time (30 hours/week) - Monday to Friday between 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time (PDT/PST)
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Prior experience with rental property accounting or property management bookkeeping
* Understanding of real estate financial operations, including maintenance costs and lease structures
* Experience preparing financial documentation for audits
* Knowledge of relevant compliance standards and regulatory requirements in property finance
**Pay:** $850 + $55 Allowance per month
