Job Description

Groton School is seeking an evening library staff associate to assist with tasks related to the upkeep of the school’s library and its collections.

This is a part-time position in the School’s library, typically three evenings per week from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. while school is in session (from late August to early June, excluding student breaks).

This position reports to the Library Director, and usually works independently in the evenings unless the Library Director is on site for training or ongoing supervision.

Job Responsibilities

The Evening Library Staff Associate will be responsible for:

• shelving returned books

• providing other library-related services for students and faculty

• oversight of student conduct in the library

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be:

• someone who enjoys being in the presence of high school-aged students

• experienced in working in a Microsoft Office and Google Workspace environment

• open to learning new computer skills

• detail-oriented

• able to lift up to 20 pounds

• familiar with library operations and the Dewey decimal system
